Since the Orchard Gallery closed we have not had a 'municipal' gallery in the city. It would be a tremendous legacy of the Year of Culture if Ebrington could remain as a centre of the visual arts. there are several other venues that could be refurbished for offices in the city. The Abercorn Factory springs to mind- it is a much more convenient site for offices. To DCC, please show the same vision in this as you did in instigating the Halloween Festival. The people of the city will be behind you.

Ebrington is and will be an increasing rich resource for our children, if we let this unique site and facilities slip away from our cultural experiences then I don't think our young people will forgive us.

This is a great resource and anchors the culture of derry to both sides of the river. I thought City of Derry should feel proud to have this as a beautiful venue in a beautiful and significant place.

For the value which a first class Art Gallery such as that at Ebrington will bring Derry-Londonderry in attracting world-class events such as that which it has hosted this year - and the visitor revenues that this brings to the city's businesses - the business case for retaining the Ebrington Gallery is absolutely crystal clear. Come on Derry City Council - be as bold and visionary as you have been in this last year !

This should be developed as a 'jewel in the crown' and build on the hosting of the Turner Prize. The city and region can support it, and can make the most of goodwill and the achievements of 2013 in its development.

Until some sensible arguments are presented as to why we should waste a lot of investment in a space kitted out as a professional municipal gallery, this can only be seen as an unimaginative and ridiculously short sighted concept. There are no shortage of buildings at Ebrington for a hub digital or otherwise but I suspect we will never get another investment in the kiy required to show the Turner - and therefore any touring exhibition in the world. Lets get creative with our thinking.

A fully formed museum quality gallery is here in Derry with this place.
It is simple and beautiful and could show anything.
If those in power choose to put un-needed offices before something of cultural, educational and inspirational importance then we must name them, shame them and oust them from power.
The Everyman Gallery must stay.

We now have something that we have wanted for decades, an exhibition space to museum standards able to borrow works from anywhere in the world that will help to regenerate our city. What is the sense in taking this away?
