Removing crossing guards is dangerous for the children. I thought we were suppose to look out for and protect our youth as they are the future.

Municipality needs to get priorities straight. Our children and youth have been neglected for years. This is another example. I am sure someone is getting paid big bucks to make this decision. Does not show integrity to me.

As a parent of a child at Dresden Area Central School, I know how impossible it is to cross North Street without a crossing guard to stop traffic. The cross walk is poorly marked, and even though it is immediately in front of the school, many drivers move through this area at a fair speed on their way into or out of town. Without a crossing guard or another way of making this cross-walk more obvious and safe, I share the concern that a small child will be injured attempting to get to or home from their school.

As a driver in this community I know this is a dangerous crossing if the crossing guard is eliminated. This is a highway with high traffic.

Little kids are playing and don't always watch what their doing, so a parent appreciates the peace of mind of having a crossing gaurd.

It is absolutely unacceptable to withdraw the services for school-crossing guards for such a a small amount of money to keep our children safe. It is funny that the municipal council cannot find less than $70,000 but they have no problem finding money to keep a railroad that no one wants except some municipal counselors. Someone has their priorities in the wrong place.

Crossing guards are necessary in our community for our childrens safety. Unless the school wants to be held responsible for any injured kids or accidents..

Keep kids safe all across Chatham-Kent. If no crossing guards, then install crosswalks - which is cheaper?
