I grew up in Dresden with a crossing guard. I believe that having a crossing guard saves lives of children.

The town of Dresden needs a crossing guard. The kids in town must cross a very busy and very dangerous major highway 21 to get to DACS . My father was crossing guard at this location for many yrs and quite often showed up a bit early and stayed a bit later (without being paid extea) because he felt it was necessary to make sure all the children were seen across safely. Unfortunately many drivers don't seem to care or pay attention unless there is an actual crossing guard there. Please do not put the children of our communities in danger. Keep our crossing guards.

The cross walk in front of DACS is incredibly busy in the morning and at dismissal. Even with a crossing guard there are close calls because cars ignore the crossing guard. The crossing guard takes measures to ensure the children cross safely. At pedestrian cross walk light will not be sufficient. Quite often it is a pedestrian light ignored. Who will ensure the safety of the children crossing when that happens.

Cars do not stop for the crossing guard or adults with children, are they going to stop for just children? I have seen cars have to brake quickly when they notice the crossing guard is out stopping traffic!
A child is going to think they have time to cross and end up getting hurt. Please, please, please don't get rid of our crossing guard!

The young children do not understand crossing roads. Why get rid of the crossing guards. Volunteers, etc. Not something the society could really afford right now!
