I have great concern on behalf of our amazing Faculty and Staff that assist our students in this building. I would be disheartened for many reasons if the ability to get food and/or drink in between their classes was eliminated. Especially in the moments where time is of the essence. Thank you for understanding and reconsideration.

It's clear from those who have signed before me that Dragon's Den is a beloved gathering spot. If CAS is really interested in serving the needs of people on campus, Dragon's Den should not only stay open, but offer more food options and longer hours.

It's very frustrating when I'm not able to get a snack after I have my classes because they close so early. I could not imagine how students, faculty, and staff would eat sometimes if they do not have this facility at all. Please reconsider.

I looked forward to going here before my class every mon wed fri it’s absurd that this decision was just made without going through the process with people on campus who are impacted

Please keep the Dragon's Den open. Many of our students, faculty and staff stop there for lunch or purchase snacks and coffee.
Old Main has many classes and traffic throughout the day, and there is not sufficient time between courses for students to go to other cafés.
In addition, many of our students utilize Dragon's Den as a meeting place for lunch and study groups.

Closing the Dragon's Den show a complete disregard for most of the people that work in Old Main and nearby bldgs where food service is unavailable and inconvenient. It certainly is not convenient to hike across campus when I have 5-10 minutes between meetings and/or classes.

I pay so much money in tuition for this school, the least you can do is keep open the only place I go to get coffee when I'm stuck in Old Main for hours

This is so mistaken, it’s hard to see how this idea got even this far. We depend on the Dragon’s Den to see each other and recharge, meeting colleagues and students outside of class in a friendly, relaxed setting. We are not automatons who can be adequately maintained by refueling in our isolated offices. What is ASC thinking?

Dragon's Den has been a hubbub of activity with students and faculty ever since I started here in 2005. This is a centrally located area between quite a few buildings and very rarely, have I ever seen it "empty". Having shorter hours makes it harder for all folks to get to the Den in time for their next class or work hours. Breakfast is an important meal of the day to start off right, and it disheartens me that student may have to resort to vending machines which may or may not have suitable breakfast items. Many times the vending machines do not work properly which is frustrating to all.
Keep the students fed, open up earlier and close later. Keep the Dragon's Den open, please.

Dragon's Den is an important part of this college. It should remain open. Setting aside the obvious convenience for those who teach and take classes in and near Old Main, it is one of few communal spaces in this part of campus wherein students, staff, and faculty regularly interact outside of classrooms in group settings. We should not discount the importance of a conversation, a smile, a shared coffee, between colleagues and also between instructors and their students, especially in this moment, when so much of our work has been atomized and digitized, shunted to offices and dormitories, across screens.
