I remember travelling the horse-drawn tram back in the 1950s. It would be a great shame to see it curtailed.

What can possibly be gained by the wanton destruction of the island's heritage, particularly with an economy heavily reliant on tourism.

I live in Syracuse, NY, USA and have long dreamed of coming to Man to experience all of its varied transportation modes including the horse tramway. I will be very disappointed if it is discontinued or reduced.

We have already lost so much of our irreplaceable heritage and further short-sighted demolitions must stop immediately.

Have had 6 wonderful holidays in the Isle of Man but never surprised at the short sightedness of the Manx Government. Do you want tourists or not?

The tramway means so much to us. As regular visitors to the island we always use the tramway and recommend it to all our friends.

An iconic and historic service that should not be shortened or downgraded.

Leave the horse trams alone, and don't spoil one of the IOM's best assets.

Your horse tramway is unique in the world. While I am glad to see that total closure is no longer proposed, it should be cherished and conserved, not truncated.

This piece of working history should be preserved, not destroyed. Absolutely diabolical

I've used it. A lovely experience of a piece of heritage. Having spoken to the people who help run it last year a change in management made it far more profitable which can be built on. Save the Douglas Tramway for future generations to enjoy.

The Douglas Horse Tramway is as unique as the San Francisco Cable Cars and it is widely known around the world as a signature attraction The Island and of Douglas.
