Shorten the tramway next year, then close it completely the year after, when there are no passengers. The Isle of Man is unique with its various transport systems, they all need saving, including the MNR. At the moment you can travel from the south of the island to the north by rail over 3 different types of Railway. Shorten or close the Horse trams and this is lost for ever. Horse trams are almost unique, the must be retained in as near original format as possible. Otherwise the government will become known worldwide as the destoyer of a heritage transport system.

Truncating the tramway will inevitably reduce income and threaten its ultimate survival.

The horse tramway from the ferry is one of the (now) very few reasons that my wife and I visit the Island.

As a regular visiter and also the owner of a travel business that specializes in bringing visitors to the Isle of Man from the United States I highly recommend keeping the tram service. It is a very big tourist draw and all my clients were greatly impressed with having it as part of the Promenade attraction.

Evidently the lesson learned from the short section working of both the MER and IMR in the 1970s has been forgot - half a railway produces twice the losses!

Taking away part of your heritage will do nothing for the tourist market who come to I.O.M to ride on transport nolonger in operation elsewhere.

This massive tourism attraction should not be curtailed in any way.

It would be a great loss if this was to go.

It is crazy to cut the horse trams short. What next? Steam Railway at Castletown? MER at Laxey? We need the heritage to keep the tourists.

The horse tramway is an important piece of heritage and is a visible sign of the islands heritage to those arriving by ferry

Having visited the IOM last July, I realise what a wonderful piece of heritage the horse trams are. It would be an act of vandalism to change what is there.

Its madness not to run the full length. It has no use as transport just to go to the Sefton. It will loose money just as joyride instead of combining the joy of a horse team ride with a purpose destination.
