Unnecessary modernisation of a Victorian promenade that will not improve the flow of traffic. Keep the Horse Trams on the entire length of the promenade and stop wasting money on ‘crazy paving’! Pavements don’t entice visitors back to this unique Island!

it is essential that the re-development of Douglas promenade includes from the onset the track work from Derby Castle through to the Sea Terminal. this is a very important part of our Manx heritage, including just part of it in the re-development is totally un acceptable.

This latest proposal is no better than previous ones. Reducing the length of the horse tramway will negate a large part of its attraction. This piece of Manx heritage is too important for short term politics. I urge everyone to listen to the Inspector in his report.

Has no one in charge read up on what happened to the MER when the Laxey - Ramsey section was closed in 1976? Truncating the line will only lead to greater loss of income with little or no reduction in operating cost.

Once it's gone it's gone, it's essential to keep the tramway as it is. Cut short the tramway and it becomes a novelty instead of serving a purpose. Douglas promenade is one of the best in the British Isles and the horse tramway is the jewel in the crown.

This is outrageous that the Isle of Man could even contemplate ruining one of the most historic and exquisite attractions for its inhabitants and for tourists. This act will only persuade more people to go elsewhere for holidays and not come and see our island.
