The horse tram is more than just a ride along the promenade, it has a very calming pleasent effect on the mind as you watch or use it. It has more therapeutic benefit and does more good than any phama pill or those who would just declare us all mentally ill. St Johns.

Don't give up another part of the IOMs heritage. You have a treasure that you seem to want to destroy, to many MHKs seem to be on an ego trip and don't listen to the true Manx people. Keep the full route along the promenade no half measures.

This ill judged proposal will make it less likely that I will visit the Isle of Man in the future. Heritage is what the IOM is all about.

This proposal will sign the death certificate for the Manx Horse tramway which is a unique asset to the island. Trunkating it to half its original length will make visitors consider it to be poor value for money and, being away from the ferry port will make it invisible and people will not walk to it.

The horse tram is part of the Manx history, it should stay how it is, during the summer i use the horse tram on a daily basis, I commute with the horse tram to go home after work and use it at the week end to go to town and back, as I do not drive and I like to use it, it is your history not mine, you need a management team that will be able to make it work, no one said it was going to be easy, however the horse tram was mis-managed by the previous owner, and run down on purpose so this will happen, you need to work together to make it work.

The Douglas bay horse trams are part of the island history and MUST be preserved for future generations. We only seem to appreciate what we have when we have lost it. In any other part of the U.K. These trams would be preserved and cherished.

The horse tramway must be preserved in its entirety for future generations. To truncate the route as proposed is just plain stupid and solely politically motivated by old crones who should have retired long ago. The island desperately needs to revive itself as a tourist destination. It needs ALL of its unique attractions intact for the future.

I have visited the Isle of Man almost every year since 1965, in connection with it's heritage rail systems. Now that your revenue from offshore finance is a distant memory, you really need to protect your remaining tourist infrastructure. You cannot rely on only the TT and the MGP to keep the remaining hotels and guesthouses up and running. I was responsible for bringing over the largest groups (LCGB) from mainland UK to the Island for the years of railway celebrations in 1993 and 1994. For pity's sake, sort yourselves out, and conserve your precious heritage for future generations! You need to be actively promoting tourism, rather than turning your corporate back on income generating heritage operations !!! If only I was able to petition Tynwald on 5th July !!!

Unique part of Manx heritage transport that boosts tourism and general appeal of the Island must be retained in current form and not pruned.

I am a frequent tourist to Tramway and railway destinations, one of the reasons of or choosing the IOM is the unique horse trams and the MER and Snaefell railway. Plus the steam railway too... These are all linked together and are a significantly larger tourist attraction as a while than the sum of their constitute parts

The Horse Trams should run the full length of Douglas Promenade. This is an integral and iconic part of Isle of Man life and tourist trade
