The Douglas Horse Tramway is as important part of Manx heritage as it is an important tourist attraction. The Manx government should be embracing this important asset rather than vandalising a piece of unique history.

I oppose any truncation, or other reduction, of the Douglas Horse Tramway, which, instead, should be developed and promoted as a world-class facility and attraction.

This is a unique part of the British Isles' heritage which also performs a useful transport function. It is in everyone's interest that it is kept.

Why take away the historic horse drawn carriages, yet another nail in the isle of man's coffin. What are you leaving for tourists to do ???? That's if they can get to the island if the boats are running.

As an occasional visitor to the Isle of Man this is an important part of the heritage transport that attracts me. I am less likely to visit the island in the future if this proposal goes ahead.

Why are so many traditions being destroyed. I love to see the horses and trams when I visit the island . Have used them with my children and hope to use them for my grandchildren.I have noticed over the years of visiting that there seems less and less attractions for visitors to enjoy. Please don't destroy your tourism!

The proposals are more than a little "blinkered" and indicative of an administration that seems determined to destroy everything relating to the Island's cultural heritage while at the same time demonstrating that they haven't really got a clue what they are doing.

The whole proposal is a false economy. The sale of trams was wrong, the sale of the stables is wrong and the removal of the Sea Terminal to South of Broadway track for the sake of car parking is also wrong. Provide more off street car parking by building a multi floor car park on the old Villers Hotel site. The shops will boom , Douglas will grow and the prom will be enhanced by the reduction in poorly parked cars. The tourist will be able to enjoy the trams in their proper setting.

As a regular visitor to the Isle of Man for almost thirty years, I regard the proposal as an absolute travesty and hope that money will not, once again, top all other considerations.
