Do we want to be just a rock in the Irish Sea, an annex of the UK? We are unique and so are the Horse Trams that's why people visit. If you get rid of the horse trams, what's next on the list - Laxey Wheel, the Steam Trains ....? Might as well become like everywhere else and let the car reign supreme!!!!

Part of the charm of the Isle of Man is the historic transport including the horse tram. If it were to be reduced it would no longer attract as many tourists and reduce tourist income for all on the island. Keep it as it is, please!

the tram is part of what makes douglas special. People who visit are fascinated and entranced by it. It should remain in its entirety as once gone you will have lost areal treasure. The tourist board should fight this proposal as wrecking the finer qualities is not in anyones best interests

As a regular tourist who visits the IOM every year, I love the horse trams and value them as part of the heritage of the island. You lost the railway to Peel - don't be so short-sighted as to lose another tourist attraction. The stables and the run from the Sea Terminal are all part of that - leave them be!

It would be an unforgiveable sin to remove the Horse Drawn Tramway from the Douglas Promenade.
It is an important drawcard for tourists visiting Douglas where they can take advantage of one of if not the last Horse Drawn Tramways in the world still running to take in the sites and shops by using the tramway and it's frequent stops without the hassle of driving in traffic and parking.
It creates the atmosphere and old world of the peaceful life of the Isle of Man which is why tourists come to visit and stay, this charm is quickly disappearing from a greedy world, to remove it with a simple thoughtless stroke of the pen would be madness and a disgrace. Once it is gone then there will be no turning back.
Fools rush in where wise men fear to tread.
Listen to the residents and tourists before an irreversible mistake is made.

The Tramway is an important asset and needs to be kept intact. I am visiting the Island this year specifically because the Tramway is due to be operating. If these proposals go through this will certainly be the last time I visit the Island. Put it simply: does the Island value tourists or not? If the proposal to truncate the Tramway is accepted the answer is clearly a vote for a reduction in tourists travelling to the Island.

This should not be allowed to happen. It would spoil the look and appeal of the historic and unique vintage transport system that the horse tramway is. The answer is a single track line with passing places as has already been suggested by other people.

To carry through with these proposals would amount to an act of vandalism! If the IOM is serious about maintaining a viable visitor economy then the present tramway must be preserved. When I was in Douglas last September there was an active debate going on about the issue. What came through very strongly was that various motoring interests were behind the momentum to get rid of the horse trams on the pretext that they caused delay to car drivers. How sad!
please keep this wonderfull attraction.
