My point of view is that we have given too much of our heritage away . In various forms.
I would like to see the Horse trams remain for the full length of the promenade. This offers connections to Boat and Buses.

It would be criminal for this wonderful attraction to disappear, in my opinion the best thing in Douglas and yet another reason NOT to visit the island ever again! When will the Isle of Man wake up to what they have got that is unique and a big draw and when it's gone becomes a massive regret!

So much IoM heritage has been squandered please do not add to the previous tales of woe. The island soon wont be worth visiting from our point of view.

The horse tramway, as it is now, is an integral part of the heritage transport system of the Isle of Man

As visitors to the Isle of Man we greatly enjoyed our ride on the tram and have recommended it to other London friends who are visiting the island in August. You need to keep this and other tourist attractions which help differentiate the Isle of Man from other holiday destinations.

At a time when the value of the pund is very low making the cost of overseas holidays very expensive, the IOM should be proactively seeking visitors and holidaymakers. Dismantling this unique attraction and lack of focus on affordable travel to island show a distinct lack of awareness and oppotunism.

I can't believe after all of the history and particularly the promises made during the run up to the General Election last year, that the polititians are again trying to destroy this unique tramway system. Unbelievable and they should all be very ashamed of renaging on promises made in order to get elected. No wonder ordinary people don't trust anything that politicians say.

I believe strongly we should retain the Douglas Horse Tramway in its present situation and keep the Horse Trams going for future generations to enjoy.

This must be preserved at all costs along the whole of the promenade. To have it just half way will be useless as no-one is going to walk over to the Villa to use it. When visitors talk of the IOM they always mention the horse trams. Please keep it as it is.

Take away the unique horse tramway? Apart from the TT, what else will the island offer the discerning, cashed up, foreign travellers who are seeking something different during their trips abroad?

The horse trams are part of the Islands heritage and needs to be preserved for the future generations and the income it brings in by visitors spending money during their stay.

The tramway should be retained in its current form - i.e. running the full length of the promenade and retaining the existing car sheds and stables.

The horse trams are an iconic feature of the Isle of Man. The transport features are many a reason that tourists choose to visit. They are a major part of what makes this wonderful Island unique.

Without the full length, his becomes a cute theme park rather than maintaining its history. A comparison - would people come to Isle of Man if there was only Groudle Glen?
