One of the reasons I've travelled from Australia to the Isle of Man is to travel on the steam trains in service and the horse tram. The horse tram is unique and must be preserved.
Modern day developments come and go...quite often only lasting a generation or two...then they are re-developed. The horse tram has been in service for over 100 years!
If anything this wonder of the Victorian age of public transport needs to be maintained, its infrastructure invested in and the cars that travel along the promenade MUST give way to alighting and joining passengers.
The horse tramway MUST be preserved at all costs...not that the COSTS of the investment are prohibitive in any way!

As an annual tourist I cannot imagine how anybody could consider interfering with this tried & tested wonderful attraction - please leave it as it is

I love the horse trams and they are indeed an integral part of the islands heritage as well as a tourist attraction. The island would not be the same without them and I fear the tourist industry may well decline if they are lost.

Please save the trams/although not an island resident they were a part of my childhood and I have introduced them to my own children /who has had this mad idea of axing them/might as well cancel the trip as well then ! It's a step too far and will be regretted if it goes forward

What is the matter with IOM politics? Last year we went through all this stuff which ended in agreement in Tynwald as I understood it in effect for the status Quo. THE HORSE TRAMS ARE A BIG ATTRACTION AND THE COMPLETE LENGTH OF TRACK MUST BE RETAINED!

I guess then the next step would be to stop the trams totally! Not what we want to have happen. The horse trams are a wonderful sight and people enjoy making use of them. Leave the tram line lengths as they are.

This would be a travesty for the Isle of Man, it is one of the most significant & beautiful attractions of the Island.........Anyone who signs for this special unique attraction to be scrapped is signing a death warrant for the Island & they are damned fools.
