Well, I tried to delete it. Apparently, only the original poster can do this.

I would like to apologize for a back handed comment posted by an obvious bigot. Said comment has been removed. We do not need comments of this caliber here.

This website INCREASED my usage of the books by referring me to new books that I had to get because I prefer the books over online sources. This site was awesome, sorted everything so I didn't get lost reading through all the books

Shutting dndtools only affects the company's name in a negative! Not cool WOTC!

DnDTools is an invaluable player resource that doesn't infringe on your creative rights, but instead collates them into a single useful collection, not unlike an online glossary. Its material is outdated by at least two versions of DnD!

WotC made D&D 3.0 and 3.5 open license--the basis for dndtools. To shut them down is to ignore that open licensure for the sake of depriving thousands upon thousand of gamers from content that they thoroughly enjoy and love and that WotC simply wishes to phase out. Stripping gamers of open licensed content is akin to suing over usage of the word 'the'--not only is it assinine and arrogant, but it is a slap in the face of loyal customers, avid gamers and future, potential gamers dndtools and other similar sites could open doors for in the future.

This shouldn't be happening, all this site was doing was compressing all those books into one, good, organised place which actually made looking for spells, feats, etc easier and less time-consuming. Thanks, WotC for taking that away.

Why do not you recognize that what you did in 3.5 was very cool? Why move forward and forget the past? You can enhance what you have and not build everything from scratch. If not then at least let us use the basic tools to continue playing. It does not cost much.

It's an absurd from Wizards to shut down this great website, the don't even support D&D 3.5 anymore, why don't they let it go?

I've been playing dungeons and dragons, as well as other WoTC games for several years now. I used dndtools as a quick reference, because being able to search something by name, rather than thumbing through the several books I own, is much simpler. We play every Tuesday night at a local restaurant, and it is taxing to have to carry all of my sourcebooks with me.

I barely use dndtools but it's just not right to shut it down when it makes the game possible for so many who otherwise wouldn't be able to keep up.
