If they were willing to run DnDtools for free, I'm sure they would be willing to transfer ownership to Wizards for no cost, meaning the site could be run legally at no cost to Wizards.

DnD tools has done a great deal to keep old players interested in the game and has been my primary tool in getting new players (who later bought the books and later editions) into the game. My recommendation WotC? Buy the website, and let its admins keep it up while putting some ads up so you get a quick buck. The shutting down of DnD tools has led to talk among myself and other playgroups I'm associated with to BOYCOTT 5th edition.

It's such a useful area that I can find this obscure information. It makes games so much better when we can play with other classes and stuff than the base core rule book things.

I will not buy another WotC product until dndtools is put back on line. WotC just lost a paying customer and created another "sharer".

DnD tools had been great means to check information on books I owned or books which I had no money to buy when 3.5 was supported system. In my opinion if WotC no longer prints nor anyway supports older editions anyway they should let people publish information (small tibdits) from the books. With luck you could buy PDF's of those books if you loved the small tidbits of information posted.

Theres nothing wrong with this site. If anything it encourages new players to play dnd. isnt that a good thing. my first character came from that site, and i enjoyed playing so much i bought you 4.0 books.

I haven't personally use this site for any of my needs but, I support sites like it because they send me to the right place to find the right book. Often times if I don't already own it I will buy one. So Wizards of the Coast this may be one last customer you have if you continue with the cease and desist order.

its my understanding the site followed the copywrite issues properly, and has publicly existed for several years without complaint from wotc - until they decided to end support for the 3.x version making dndtools one of the primary references available for those not wishing to partake of wotc's new product. therefore the cease-n-desist order is a marketing ploy to force users to stop playing their prior procduct line, rather than an attempt to product that "obsolete" version.
