I'm away from home a lot, and dndtools is infinitely more convenient than lugging my whole 3.5 library around.

The rules derive from the books and now that the books are discontinued,the site can also be seen as historical document

This site made thing incredibly easy for a dungeonmaster like myself to unite the many books into one campaign. It made things incredibly fun, being able to discover something that I may have looked over in a particular book; being able to go back, read, and incorporate it into my campaigns made things more fun for everyone.

I own nearly every 3.5e book there is, but when I play online with friends, it's much faster for me to bring up this site than to flip through half a dozen books to find the page I need and slow the game down while doing so. Tools like this do not detract from your IP, but enhance it. You can't really realistically run a game without the base materials, so these sites don't really prevent people from buying the materials. Go after the sites hosting your books as PDF files and not the wikis that help us players move our games along faster.

This helped me keep up with the rest of my group when I was a newer player, and helped me gain the friends I have today. It's a treasure trove of information, and it's more than a shame to see it go.

I have purchased dozens of WotC's books and use dndtools.eu to quickly look up information at the table. It really helps cut down on rule look up and lets us get back to having fun.

I don't see why there is a point to shutting this (just like Crystal Keep) down... I use it as a resource to aid me, not to replace the books. Please don't be so cruel WotC.
