its too good to be gone. Wizards gave up on 3.5 but many fans havent. I lsot EVERYTHING in a house fire. So I bought all the books 3.5 Wizards produced. I cannot replace those books as they are not sold in stores. As well under Canadian law I beleive we are allowed a abck up electronic copy for any product we have. we even have it built into our tax's on certain products.

dndtools was an amazing site. My friends and I play D&D 3.5 and used this site all the time to find all the hard to find information. This site should not have been forced to go down.

WotC should of bought the website and hired the guys running it. Throw in a few adds and links to buy the books at each page and you've got a money-maker. C'mon, guys. The 3.5 player base will NEVER switch. Stop trying to force your new crap down our throats! A turd is still a turd, now matter how many times you polish it.

This site was an incredibly useful tool. I used it alongside the core rulebooks for 3.5, tile sets, campaign settings etc., which I purchased AFTER browsing this site.I'd bet i'm not the only person who has done so either. WotC should be thanking them for supporting their product, not shutting them down.

Maybe but it's very important for them to understand we don't have to pay for a single one of their products. It's our goodwill alone that gives them money. We can just as easily scan the shit and spread it like butter through the internet.

This site was a much needed quick reference during game play for finding and comparing information at a moments notice without taking time out of the game to flip through a dozen books to find the relevant information. It was not a complete source but it did provide page numbers and books for the information as well which was valuable.

This is ridiculous. WotC is not producing 3.5 content any further and giving no support. There is zero loss of profit for the company by allowing fans to gather this content into a single location. If players don't want to play 4th or 5th, then they are not going to.

Seriously... I have all the books in storage some where, but I've been relying on PDF copies for years. DnDtools was THE SITE that deminished the slog of knowing there is some spell that summons an electric touch attack whip but can't recall where it's from or what's it called. It was a resource that made playing 3.5, which of often do in public for all to see WotC's fine product, much more expedient and enjoyable.

i relied on dndtools to help me find information quickly while playing or even leading up to game night. i own most of if not all of the books, but a database is so much easier to find the information i need and discover information i didnt even know existed. very few people are going to buy the PDFs even if sites like this arent out there, and the people still playing 3.5 arent going to convert to 5th edition, so its not like you are losing any money from this being a thing, you are just ensuring that players who rely on it do not buy your products. even once i discovered sites like this i still bought more books because i like having access to the information when without internet or when i know exactly where it is, if i didnt have access to a database i never would have known i had a need for most of the books i own.

Your customers clearly want a digital way to navigate your materials, WotC/Hasbro. Make us one, or leave the people who're doing your job for you alone. Modern people of the digital age don't have time to thumb through over 50 3.x books looking for the right rule for the situation. It's simply too many books to keep track of. Not to mention - do you KNOW how heavy lugging around over 30 of those books to your game session is as a DM??? I ought to know, my husband and I own every 3.x book ever released except for 2. We literally cannot fit them all into a giant rolling duffel bag. I can never remember which rule/class/new spell/new feat/new prestige class is in which book when I'm DMing, there's just too many of them. Fix the problem. Make it digital.

dndtools.eu is one of the best tools that I've ever come across for referencing materials. All rights and credits were given for every piece of material that was listed and kept in good order... I have virtually every 3 and 3.5 reference book, but the site made it easy to find almost everything I wanted with just a few clicks.
