Not everyone is an athlete. How unfair to single out the music program! You got your referendum passed, now do the responsible thing and make it fair for everyone.

My son Jakob Kocanda is a paraprofessional for percussion.We were told by the idiot yes vote people bothering me at home that everything would be put back as usual if it passed.

It's never wise to cut a program that would take years to rebuild. I'm looking forward to a strong band program in 86. This community deserves the best opportunities for kids.

I am glad the BOE is looking to trim the budget but wish it woukdnt affect student programs, especially those held in such high regard.

I voted yes to the referendum, I expected our music programs to be fully funded. All of my children had music and arts at HCHS and it positively impacted their HS and life experiences greatly.

Cutting music programs and staff is short sighted and not supported by the community. The music program was one of the reasons our son chose to attend Hinsdale Central and not attend the private school his sister went to. Competing at IHSA was an important part of his high school experience.

Must NOT cut the music/arts programs! These program impact so many students and aid in their mental and social development. I myself benefited tremendously from the music program at
Hinsdale South. It was something to be very proud of as a student, and now as an alum. This is what our community fought for in getting this referendum passed! Please do not fail the students by cutting music out of their curriculum!

We need to ensure Music/Choir offerings remain intact or even bolstered at each school. This is critical to both our students academic and social/emotional development.

Once again, this is not a redundancy, luxury, or wasteful spending that has no impact on students. It's just the opposite like the proposed cut of drama club at South. If you want more money for long term maintenance, start with cutting administrators, not fine arts classes and student programs. Budget cuts going forward need to be a comprehensive plan looking at all expenses and not piecemeal on the fly.

Our kid's love and performance of music will likely last long after the last player has walked off the field at the end of their "careers", whether it be HS, college or even Pro. We all rallied to get this thing passed - don't discriminate now.
