Keep the funding for CTE programs that are vital to the work force in our community for high school kids who can't attend College, and those who cannot wait after HS graduation to be employed! This program is absolutely vital for the vibrancy of our community!! I will vote FOR this program to continue at the same level of funding it now has, OR MORE!

CTE helped me so much in the future and I found my career path because of the CTE classes I took in high school.

My name is Skyler Kang and I was actually quite recently promoted to restaurant manager at the restaurant I've been working at since my days in highschool attending the CTE courses I did, and wouldn't be able to say that if I never developed the necessary skills and tools this job requires had I not learned them through the CTE program (DECA) at Chandler High School. Through the DECA program, I was able to learn the functions of my current position while I was attending high school in my actual business courses, and also participating in the extra-curricular portion of DECA, the State and National competitions. These are not only some of the most important things I was taught in highschool, but these courses also allowed a medium for myself to create some of the fondest memories I have of my teenage years with friends I still cherish today. Had both the business classes and the extra-curricular DECA competitions not have been available to me in highschool, it's safe to say I'd be out of a job, or searching desperately for my place in this economy/society and probably wouldn't have made the same connections or formed some of the same relationships. Don't cut CTE funding!

DECA and many other CTE programs in the Chandler school district honestly changed my life and taught me so many valuable life skills. It would be such a shame for future students to not get the chance to take these classes and learn as much as I did from AMAZING teachers. Without DECA, I would not have gotten an amazing internship my senior year of highschool at the Chandler Chamber of Commerce where I got hands on experience in the marketing field even before college and I definitely would not have the confidence I have today going into the workforce!

I have two friends who are CTE educators. I am signing this in support of them and the hundreds of students they teach. But let's be realistic - education costs a lot not just here but everywhere. We as Americans have given WAY too much control to our various levels of government. There comes a time when spending needs to be cut or taxes need to be raised. What one program loses, another gains. There is no easy fix to this.
