Removal of this class would be discrimination against Dyslexic children.

I'm fed up of cut backs on services that are clearly required. Every time there are cut backs why is it that the most important services especially with children get savaged?

Unbelievable, this is shocking! To even think of shutting down schools like these not only in Aberdeen but all over the UK is out of this world. I for one is against this and would sign the petition 10000 times over if it meant keeping this school open.

My son attends a dyslexic unit in Aberdeen and it has made a huge difference for him and our family one of the most benificial experiences the council could offer him. You have to keep these units open they do amazing work and really help the children and families who attend them

Class teachers and support staff will always try their best for each child in the class. However where will a child requiring individual programmes, observation and engagement get the most attention - in a class of four or a class of thirty?

My son had severe Dyslexia but after being in a school such as this is a useful member of society. Mainstream schooling. Is NOT the answer.

I'm all for mainstream schooling children when there is a suitable support structure in place for this but I very much doubt finances will be available to individual schools to bring in the specialist support staff required to help the individual. Without this dyslexic children will suffer plus could have a detrimental effect on other kids in class too as teacher has to choose whether to deal with class as a whole or offer additional support to one child.

There seem to be a utopian view that mainstream schools will develop their teachers to support children and provide specialist teaching. Children's future is at stake - this needs much more profound consideration.

Both my children struggled through school because of dyslexia extra help is definitely needed.
Some children are not even being diagnosed with dyslexia because they are overlooked as the teachers are too busy dealing with big classes.

I went to the Lerning Unit and it helped become confident with my Maths, English and all the other subjects we did.
plz help people like me and have a hart and don't close it down!!!

My child benefited from being able to attend one of these units. They mustn't be allowed to close.

Please keep these units open. They are lifelines for some children & parents. How could teachers already pressured find time to teach these children within our rural schools?

Do not let down such a big part of the population by removing the specialised teaching they need. It cannot be done in an ordinary classroom.
