These units provide great extra teaching care for those children that need it and to close them is just ridiculous, my child has only been going for over a month full time and the improvements in his work is great.

After hearing over the years about the great work that is done within these two units I cannot begin to understand how the council can possibly think that the children who attend these units will get the same support from teachers who are already teaching in busy classrooms with often disruptive children. There has got to be other ways of saving money other than penalising children who deserve extra support to set them up for their future years.

These 2 units are essential and transformational for severely dyslexic children. To allow all severely dyslexic children to flourish and overcome the obstacles of their dyslexia, the access to such units should be expanded not restricted. Closing them is a very retrograde step, as the mainstream cannot cater adequately for the most severely affected!

Have seen the amazing results it can have with children I know first hand. It can make such a difference to a young persons confidence, learning and social skills as well general outlook on life with the help it provides. Would be devastating to loose such a valuable service

For severely dyslexic children these units provide the enabler for children to reach their full potential in a supportive environment with committed staff and enthusiastic classmates. Access to this kind of gold standard teaching for those with the most need should be what Aberdeenshire Council are working to expand not remove. Save these units!!

wholly unsuitable To take away such a vital support. Teachers in mainstream have neither the time nor the knowledge to provide the support which will allow children with Dyslexia to reach their full potential.

It would be a huge mistake to close these units. They are two things that the Education system has actually got right. The quality of education they receive will be diluted by the proposed change to educate them in their own classroom environment.

This is a vital resource for children with dyslexia. Schools don't have the resources to help them as much as these centres can and with the shortage of teachers support teachers are being used to fill the gap. These centres should be being enhanced not cut!!

my son went to the centre in crimond and it helped him no end he would not be were he is now if it was not for the extre help he got from the dyslexic unit.

The children that attend these units benefit greatly from the specialised support available. How can we get it right for every child if we remove vital support? How can we meet the aims of the curriculum for excellence of fostering well being and creating citizens who can contribute meaningfully to society if we remove this support?

Kids need support from specialised units.What a load of rubbish about GIRFEC.Doesn't exist and waste of money. Why do kids with additional needs have to struggle so much.These kids will also struggle as adults due to cuts in support.Total disgrace.Support should be increasing by now not disappearing
