Time for lambeth to rethink its shortsighted policies to build yet more poorly thought through accomodation that undermines the needs of existing communities.

The is nothing wrong with this estate. People live there. Don't shift them out for richer people, its not in the long term intrest for anyone, including Lambeth council.

Demolition is simply a bad idea. Repair is the only feasible option to address raised issues. A key Lambeth official rightly pledged in an early meeting in Rotunda that demolition would never take place unless majority residents agreed to it. Were demolition to go ahead against residents' will, it would be undemocratic and against human rights. Lambeth should forget about the idea of demolition and attend to repair issues.

This estate is an example of good social housing and the way it has been built has helped to create a strong community. Don't knock it down just to make a quick buck from private property developers. We need more social housing not less.

We walk through the estate to the park-the video shows a real and lovely community- I'm signing this petition to support this community and Lambeth citizens right to community- we all need this.

This sounds like just an excuse for a council to make more money, with no thought to the welfare of the people already living at Cressingham Gardens, who understand what its actually like to live there.

There's nowhere to decant the extising tenants to, particularly those who are disabled or elderly. If even part of the estate is biult on and made more dense, there will be more noise nuisance, less privacy between blocks and less of the very things which make this estate function - higher density built ones have failed.

So short sighted, yet another mid century gem threatened. If it gets knocked down, 10 years down the line when the public's "taste" catches up we'll be regretting it. It's architectural heritage AND a fabulous community.

We are not willing to give up our finest communities for the council to be selling it off to developers. We would like for the people who have lived in Cressingham Gardens and have made it what it is to be able to stay.
