This estate was built at a tiem when lessons had been learnt from putting people into tower blocks and barrack blocks. Residents are close together, but have just enough breathign space to feel safe and uncrowded. The propese regenration would wreck that. There are far more viable options. A green retofit (which would partly refund the cost of refurbishment with grants and avoiding the need to pay the carbon tax), would be far less disruptive, cheaper than any of the original 5 options, and preserve the existing community. As a bonus, the voids on Crosby Walk, bricked up for over 15 years, could be brought back into use as homes. If Lambeth coucnil is so concerned about the length of the housing list, those flats ought to have been repaired instead of emptied and bricked up for so long. By their fruits shall ye know them.

We voted Labour Councellors into Office in May 2014 and in majority control of Lambeth Council. Now they can attack us. our homes. closed-friendly community- a short-sighted view to increase housing density in the estate, with more crimes of theft, drug dens and prostitudes from more tenants' customers, more vehicles traffic and noises, more people, music noises and neighbours' fights for car parking spaces. .
