This breaking up of communities must stop, especially in the case of such a well-designed estate as Cressingham Gardens. Repairs must be cheaper and better than wholesale demolition and rebuilding UNLESS Lambeth Council has another agenda? Lambeth must start treating people as human beings not just numbers. The vandalism that is ruining London and making it a city only for the rich must be halted. We expect better from a Labour council!!!

Just watched on #itvhousing, I was very moved by the residents who live there living with the threat of compulsory purchase, when I persistantly hear of people from Asia and Russia buying up London homes It makes me feel sick that a Labour borough wants to demolish a whole housing estate that is a success to build a 100 more homes. Get Russell Brand on the case I am sure he will stop them property speculators In sheepskin jackets dead in their tracks. I have been a staunch labour supporter all my life (72 yrs age now ) but this pushes me to the Greens. Mike Burke. Plaistow East London.

An amazing special estate; must be saved from 're-development'. Hope the residents can come up with own renewal programme for the common areas and show the Council grants and funds might be found for option 1 upgrading.

I love this estate.....as a child I remember riding from my house on Loughborough Park to my uncles house in the Tulse Hill estate and short-cutting through Brockwell Park. I would ride through the intricate walkways, twists and turns and it felt like a labyrinth. As an adult is doesn't feel so big, but I still think it's a beautiful estate and a place I would want to live!!!

This is the rich tryogn to get their hands on prime land for redelopment for the only purpose of making money. these houses if demolished will be lost to social housing. People need homes, investors not need more houses to leave empty for profit, whilst pricing the ordinary person out of the market.

Save the beautiful people and homes of Cressingham Gardens! The inviting estate designed by the great Hollamby, is home to a spectrum of generations, characters, stories, greenery, and lovely homes that, having visited first hand, are genuinely NOT in need of demolision! Use the funding available for maintanance and the brilliant energy saving plans put forward by the residents! Don't destroy something that works, don't disrupt beauty, peace and character for your own selfish financial plights. Please sign the petition and #SaveCressinghamGardens Sarah, Teacher working on location at estates in Brixton Peace and love x

I live nearby as a Lambeth Leaseholder and appreciate that Lambeth Council have not developed the working relationship with its Leaseholders. I walk in the top meadow area of Brockwell Park nearly every day and love the look of Cressingham Gardens and how it was designed to blend in with the park. It would be a loss to the community if Lambeth Council goes ahead with its plans.
