It's a lovely place next to Brockwell park, developers will build like they're doing at the Elephant and Castle and local people won't be able to afford to live there. My mum lived on this estate and had many lovely neighbours.

I work in London and live in Surrey, however I read the Council's plans on the Guardian this morning. I'm hoping that these ludicrous ideas are simply a miscommunication between various Council departments who are unaware of each others actions. Regardless, someone with authority who sits well above the respective planning and repair departments must choose one option or the other, not both a £14k bill and a subsequent demolition.

Where is the common sense in the plan to repair the estate - at the resident's costs and against their wishes - and then to demolish it.
I think the individuals involved should have their positions reviewed - not necessarily sacked - but given close scrutiny.

How can Lambeth council run by Labour, who are supposed to be democratically elected representatives promoting the cause of the poor and vulnerable and honest hardworking people, trample on them like wicked Victorian landlords, utterly disregarding their views and their future? It is beyond despicable. I am shocked that we are supposed to live in a civilised democracy with accountability, and yet Lambeth is just ignoring the wishes and concerns of residents in its pursuit of its own agenda.

This estate must stay Cressingham Gardens is a wonderful and close community. Find a brown field site to build don't take away the homes of these lovely people.
