It may be an angel with a dirty face but Cressingham is beloved by those who live there. Lambeth Council only sees another social engineering opportunity.....

The plans to redevelop Cressingham Gardens are ill considered and destructive.

As a near neighbour of Cressingham Gardens I feel strongly that the community and architecture of this estate must be preserved. The rebuild will be lengthy, disruptive and fundamentally wrong.

Cressingham Gardens is a good family home to so many - it's that rare thing in the densely occupied Brixton area of being an estate which is well designed, for the public good and gives a decent quality of life so close to the park for those social housing residents who live there. STOP the demolition and SAVE CRESSINGHAM GARDENS

Social housing that functions well and that people enjoy living in is so rare. Cressingham Gardens is both those things. It's a phenomenal asset to the borough (quite aside from its merit as a great example of innovative 70s architecture). Lambeth Council, you're making yourself look corrupt, blithely unconcerned about local people's welfare, and idiotically shortsighted. Surely you're not. Are you?

Seen the estate on Channel 5’s documentary, the councils agenda is disgusting. Good luck, from Bham.

Lambeth should be show-casing this estate as a benchmark of excellence for other community developments, not knocking it down!!

Refurbish rather then rebuild it what this area deserves.

I looked into this & the more I read the more I am disturbed. A Labour Council is, for some reason, deliberately destroying community. Hmmm, something is wrong in the kingdom....
