The regeneration plans are driven by profit hungry developers with no concern for the social aspect of housing. As someone who works in affordable housing, it is something that I see happening too much. Let's fight the plans and set a precedent for other council's to act on behalf of their community rather than the capitalists.

Cressingham Gardens rightly won awards when it was first built.
It is a sophisticated layout and design which nestles effortlessly in the landscape adjacent to Brockwell Park.
It should be designed a Conservation Area.

Please reconsider putting profit before people. My good friend owns her home here. She's a single parent, a key worker who does socially important work teaching in a local Pupil Referral Unit, and as she wouldn't receive the market value for her home, it's likely she'd be forced out of London, and therefore her job. The destruction of her home would impact her, her child, and all the kids she teaches. Please reconsider.

The destruction of a thriving and vibrant community is unfair. Lambeth is wrong to be taking such action. It needs to stop and repair the homes not demolish them. Too much of this is happening in London. It is morally wrong. (If new homes are needed then find brown field sites to develop. There seem to be quite a lot of them around.)

this is yet another example of capitalisim in the guise of 'regenertaion' now that Brixton and its surrounding are has become a desirable location for the middle classes to move into. This type of proposal creates fractured society, personal gain at the expense of the community where the only person who gains from the people are the corporate giants and overseas investors. My best friend is a home owner, key worker and single parent who has invested her energy to create a secure home within the community - who will not receive the market value for her property and will be rendered unable to relocate in London where her life is and child is at school. The local mix of tenants, home owners, family and elderly is what this government advocates as community in their Big Society, so why are you destroying a community and an exemplary example of social architecture that is thriving and works? Reminiscent of the local community at Elephant and Castle - why don't you concentrate of the bigger picture of poverty, food banks rather than demolishing a community that is thriving. Watch out where you live may also become too desirable for you to remain living in your community.
