allotments are so good for so many for a plethora of reasons. Whether for better health and growing your own, improved mental and physical health due to connecting with nature and exercising or the sense of connecting with other human beings they are really really important. This is an important cause not just for Craven Vale but for allotments countrywide. I for one believe that our land and our people are much better off with allotments.

There is no need to waste more land on housing, why not use some of the many abandoned buildings which have become an eyesore on a once beautiful landscape. Allotments are vital if humanity wishes to create a sustainable, viable and affordable food source for both themselves and for future generations to come. They play a key role in creating and sustaining a healthy environment for pollinators and wildlife in general; without which humans would surely perish.

It is so wrong to use allotment land for housing, we've had that in Liverpool with the result that waiting lists are years long. I would be devastated to lose my lottie, and I've only had it for 2 years! For old timers it must be dreadful to lose their much loved and enhanced soil.

We must fight for these important local historical sites. Benefits from involvement in an allotment include social inclusion, physical and mental good health, employability skills, personal budgeting (GYO is cheaper than the supermarket!) and the chance to be part of developing good environmentally sustainable cities!
