I love these courts and this club, and I hope there is someway that they can stay. You have a lot of good people that play racquetball out of In-Shape Antioch.

This is a deeply disturbing and completely wrong decision on many levels. I'll begin with the obvious... Racquetball players are among the most loyal and long standing members a club will ever have. They leave a club only if they move or if they can no longer play. You do not have a more secure revenue flow that racquetball players. Aside from the obvious health benefits , it is unique in being a social community that has been here for over a decade. The racquetball players were among your first members, as many of us signed up in a trailer while this club was being built. You speak in your mission statement about diversity, yet you strip the club of one of it's most diverse groups. You choose to narrow the offerings to your members in lieu of a short term trend. The way this was handled is even more disturbing. In a world that is far more transparent every day, where companies and their leadership are held accountable and to specific standards... "You are what you do" plays a major role is the success of a company. Accountability is critical. In Shape has clear issues in leadership and integrity. Your President seems fond of touting her inclusion and leadership, yet when it comes down to actual execution of values... she clearly lacks them... In point... upper management was in this club back in March examining it. When questioned about whether they would change the courts they were very clear.. "No we will not. In fact, we could not change them if we wanted to, they are part of the support for the building"...... IN Shape lied. Flat out. In May, they closed the Pittsburg gym. Forcing their members to come to Antioch. Not a problem, players and members were welcomed and while the club is busier, it was no issue. Other rumors came out that they were removing the courts, In Shape again denied it.. Lied to us. and then, with only two weeks notice they announced "Good News" in an email... Good news for who? It is an insult to loyal InShape members to suggest the decision to eliminate Antioch racquetball was based on ‘member feedback.’ Nobody in the local racquetball community was consulted or asked for their ‘feedback’ as far as I know. I rely on the faithful members of InShape to meet me on the racquetball courts for fellowship and fun competition. Moreover, I’m depending on racquetball, my primary activity, in order to help manage my diabetes through aerobic exercise, as is recommended by my doctor. A very shortsighted and unscrupulous decision by InShape. Shameful.
