This green space is what makes our area unique and attractive in the first place. It helps keep the air fresh, the atmosphere peaceful, the people active and still leaves a little space for some much needed biodiversity in the area. To consider building homes is an outrageous and egregious offence to everyone!

This area is NOT suited to housing, nor a road, nor a neighborhood. It is extremely steep and the City of Issaquah has proven it cannot adequately research the risks when approving developer-submitted plats. The area is absolutely stunningly beautiful, with giant trees, hiking trails, and wildlife that would all be destroyed, all for a neighborhood that will likely never bea ble to be built. It will wash down onto Newport way before they can finish it.

We need wild areas to survive. Nature and our survival require Interdependency. The natural areas left are already showing signs of over development. Sewage tanks and odors that smell like gas leaks are unavoidable on a number of waterways and trails. Build where there is room and ample resources. How many more beautiful mountains and peaks need to turn into Housescapes?!!

Being born and raised here i've always have hiked in cougar mountain and the surrounding areas. These hiking and recreational areas need to be preserved.

I grew up exploring Cougar Mountain, and I still find peace and serenity along its trails even in my 40's. It has been heartbreaking to see the development that has occurred along Newport Way already - please put an end to these mass developments on Cougar Mountain. It is too far of a precious jewel to forever ruin.

Once this land is developed, there is no going back. The only reason Cougar Mountain is undeveloped today is because of the conservation efforts of those who came before us. We must fight to preserve these open and green spaces, regardless of the pressure to develop.
The landslide risk alone should be enough to kill this development plan. The last thing this region needs is 57 more single family homes. Save the Bergsma property for posterity. Keep new development closer to urban centers!
