Ruby at Colby is an integral part of Colby's athletic options. I firmly believe it should stay a part of Colby.

This is an extremely disappointing move on the part of the school. Women's Rugby has been a part of the Colby Community since 1981 and Men's Rugby for just as long, if not longer. It is an integral part of the Colby experience for many students every year. There are plenty of club and varsity sports that continue at Colby that are high impact sports and yet they are not being cancelled. Rugby is a sport that is practiced around the world, and at many colleges across the country and the athletes involved understand and agree to the risks involved. I truly hope that President Adams and Dean Keltzer reconsider this decision as it affects not only current and future students but also the thousands of proud Colby Rugby alumni and seems to have been made without the input of the teams, the alumni or the school at large. 20 years after graduating from Colby, and I still consider rugby to be one of my most formative experiences. When I think of Colby, the first thing that comes to menory is rugby.
