One of the best Rugby games I ever played in was as a member of the George Washington University Rugby Club against Colby College in the 2008 Beast of the East Tournament. It would be a shame for such a strong program to be folded due to ignorance on the actual risks of concussions within the sport, compared to other more mainstream sports.

If health and safety risks of a high collision sport are of concern, I would urge the administration to also eliminate footbaal, soccer and basketball.

Rugby is the fastest growing sport in America, no reason for this up and coming program to be cut.

We need the support of the administration to continue athletics for students. Sports teams are crutial for student's well being, stress release and comraderie amoung their age group.

Playing on such a team is a life changing experience, a place to make life-long friends. Please continue to support Colby Rugby.

Rugby helped me maintain my focus while at school. Without it, I likely would have transferred. Good luck, keep fighting!

I am a parent of a Colby Rugby alum. Please reconsider this decision.

If they want to end a sport that teaches many life lessons in the form of perhaps the greatest team game on the planet, they should think again. Rugby teaches so many things an outsider or administrator could never know. Save Colby Rugby!!

Without Rugby, Colby students will quickly find themselves to be the biggest wussies in the North East. Thank you and good day! A. Morton Class of 1997

Ridiculous on so many levels. If finances are the issue, give rugby alums the opportunity to raise the funds needed to support the club.

As an alumni and a current Colby parent, it disappoints me greatly to see a positive tradition eliminated from the school. Outside of the academic curriculums schools are built on tradition. The memory of these traditions and experiences are the ambassadors to the school. They are what brings financial support and helps build positive reputations.

Colby Rugby is the first thing I think of when I look back on my four years at Colby. Do not take away that opportunity for others

I was on a varsity athletic team and understand the importance of that comradarie. Just because it isn't a varsity sport doesn't mean that rugby isn't as strong of a team. Don't cut it!
