Current player for Charles River Women's Rugby and former NESCAC rugby player. Rugby players at small college put they're heart and soul to make the sport happen and it's a shame to see it taken away from them without speaking up for it. Good luck and I hope the college sees the folly of it's decision.

As a fellow rugby player (Charles River RFC in Boston), I know how valuable the connections and camaraderie of being a part of a club can be - especially for people who have moved to a new area. Like most American players I was introduced to the game in college, and am all the better for it. I hope that the young men and women of Colby are not deprived of the opportunity to develop great memories and lifelong friendships over a few dollars.

Rugby is such a passionate sport. To take this away from the students would be like taking away part of their life!

This is incredibly disheartening to see that the college is even thinking of canceling a sport. Way to support the students that are paying 50,000/year.

Colby is doing it's students a disservice with this action. I am 19 years removed from my days of playing rugby at Trinity College and STILL see benefits of a rugby background in my career. Just had a meeting with an executive a few weeks ago who turned out to be a rugby alumni from Williams College. Rugby is a sport that goes FAR beyond the playing field.

i can't begin to count how many people I know who have been literally saved by rugby, nor can i express how truly lost I myself would be without this sport and this team in my life. the community of rugby exists nowhere else and the thought of colby students losing that support and outlet is devastating. dont do it.

As a member of the Franklin Pierce Women's Rugby team, getting to know the Colby Sawyer team has been great. They provided their facilities during the playoff season and are a very professional team. Keep this team going so others can learn to fall in love with this sport.

Let's be careful, objective, and thorough in our response to this decision.

Rugby is an international game that brings together so many people of different backgrounds. By Colby getting rid of rugby for seemingly unjustified reasons the deeper message of exclusion is implied. Keep Rugby going!

Rugby may be the most enlightening and character building aspect of young people in "higher education". Keep it alive.

Played Colby last year- amazing team! The men's team came out and supported their women which was great to see. You can't put a price on how important rugby is to most of us: it is our friends, our supports, out sport. Keep it up Colby!

Rugby is the fastest growing sport in the USA, the second biggest sport in the world, and is being reintroduced into the Olympics. Don't take a backward step Colby.

Very saddened to hear of this development. Colby rugby, both men and women have performed with distinction through the years. I hope wiser heads prevail and this decision is reversed.
