As president of the a Red Rocks College Rugby Football Club, we have had to face similar concerns from our administration - but luckily for us we have found a safe and financially sound way to continue rugby at our small college. Hopefully the same can happen for Colby Rugby. Cheers, and as always, go forward!

Are they planning to get rid of football too? Football is a collision sport, rugby is a contact sport. There is a distinct difference and the medical experts agree. Perhaps the following read should be given to Colby administration. http://slps.priory.org/fraugustine/RugbySafety.htm

Big, big mistake! I learned more from rugby that is applicable to any career situation (communication, teamwork, compromise, ingenuity, creativity, collaboration) than I ever learned in a classroom chair.

I have been supporting Wellesley College rugby For 24 years. With little or no support from the administratoin. I realy don`t think they know enuoght about the sport to just end the program

Football has been looking to Rugby to figure out how to lower concussions!

It would be a shame to see Colby Rugby end. I've heard great things about the program.

This is an over-reaction to the common misperception that while football is very dangerous, somehow, rugby must be dangerous too. This assumption is not supported by any real empirical evidence. In fact, rugby is actually safer than soccer!

I've played rugby over 20 years and been involved in the sport most of my life. There's nothing else like it and Colby students should be allowed to experience it

Rugby is one of the fastest growing sports in America. With the recent inclusion into the 2016 Olympics it would be a shame to end a program that requires very little support.

I don't see them closing down football or soccer which are both high impact as well.
