Until very recently most if not all college rugby teams were clubs funded either by student associations, dues, fundraising or a combination of all three. In all cases budgets were tight, but determined teams found ways to make it work. The rugby community thanks and commends the many schools who now sponsor and recognize rugby as a sport just like any other school sponsored athletic team. To address the injury issue I urge you to read the following article which is one of many comparing rugby to other popular collegiate contact sports: http://m.thepostgame.com/blog/eye-performance/201310/rugby-football-concussions-tackling-safety-technique Best of luck CCRF

I love rugby and would hate to see a school end such a wonderful sport.

Hate to see another school make an uninformed decision and cut rugby.

The current Welsh National team has a lawyer, a medical doctor and a medical student in its ranks, so clearly the injuries from this sport don't render the players stupid. That's just an excuse.

Rugby saved my life. Taking away that possibility from someone else is just completely ignorant.

I am an undergraduate at Princeton University and a proud member of the rugby team. Rugby should be shared with love, not eradicated with ignorance.
