broken fingers and a few bonks on the head don't mean much compared to a lifetime of memories....leave it alone! lets keep kids tough...they are going to need it in this life!

There are more concussions in soccer than rugby per player. Let's teach our kids to dive and flop instead right. Rugby is character...period.

I am the proud uncle of Maggie Burgos, a Colby Mule. She and I both play rugby. I started playing as a PhD student at UC Berkeley. While rugby is indeed a contact sport, when played correctly it is less dangerous than other contact and even non-contact sports. My health has improved greatly since taking up rugby. At 45 years of age and a university professor, I am still playing full contact rugby.

Wrong on so many levels. Short sighted to create stress among students, parents and alumni. She created a impossible scenario. And dropped it on the students right before the finals. Wrong!

The sport of rugby allowed me to meet some of my best friends. My rugby club has also allowed me to learn self-discipline, accountability, and leadership. Save Colby Rugby, and help people continue to have the positive experiences I've had.

Over these last two years, I watched my little girl and her friends become passionate about a sport they had never been exposed to in their urban experiences. Yet, by the end of last season, they had morphed into knowledgeable, fiercely capable rugby players who were contagious in their love for the game. This year, even with the set back of a disorganized start as a result of administrative miscues, they were championship caliber. It deeply saddens me that an institution that I entrusted with broadening the educational and social horizons of my daughter is now seeking to narrow the horizons of those who follow her. It is not too late for Colby to do the right thing and allow them to scrum.
