Playing a high collision sport is a personal choice. Every rugger out there knows the consequences, but to take away that choice is wrong.

You can't take their rugby, and you can't take their spirit!

As a member of the women's rugby team at Oregon State University, this deeply saddens me. Without rugby in my life, I honestly don't know where I would be. Rugby is not just a contact sport, it's a place where you can meet life-long friends, gain a support group and let off some steam that the pressures of college life demand. I hope that this is all worked out! Good luck!

Rugby may be more appropriately served as a sport (Athletic Dept.) rather than club (Student Activities).

especially as a woman-rugger, the importance of this sport cannot be emphasized enough. In no other collegiate sports club are the rules between the men and women's versions unaltered. The sport is a high collision one, and does have some risk, but realistically, no more than any other collision sport (read: football and hockey). Women deserve, are capable of, and excel in rugby. Do not take away the one real collegiate contact women's sport.
