Words can hardly explain what rugby has done for me over the 35 years and 3 countries that I have enjoyed the game in. Colby should keep it going!

Hopefully, people at Colby College will take the time to reconsider this very unfortunate decision.I have coached the college rugby team 35 miles down the road in Farmington. For 23 years I have watched hundreds of young men and women learn a new, vibrant, aerobic sport that many chose to play for years after college. Anybody who would suggest that a full-time trainer is needed at rugby practices is clearly misinformed and,I suspect, simply looking for ammunition to support her argument. It has been a great pleasure for the past 23 years to see Colby rugby players so often display all of the skill, perseverance and courage that rugby demands, and it truly will be a shame if this program is terminated.

This fast growing sport of rugby should not be terminated at Colby College. With enough financial support and knowledge of how to properly play the game these serious injuries should not be occurring. Yes injuries happen but this should not hamper the sport. That is all.

I support Colby College Rugby. I played at New England College for 4 years in the 1980's. Then for White Plains RFC in the 90's, then for White Plains Old Boys , now for NEC Alumni (henchmen). I love, value, treasure the friends and relationships I've built playing this wonderful game. A day without Rugby, is like a day without air. Do the right thing, suck it up, and do a bunch of fundraisers. The kids love it. I'm 50 yrs old, a respectable businessman, and a contributing member of society, and I still love rugby. Come up with a plan, and make it happen.

If you are going to get rid of rugby then it isonly fair that any and all other contact sports including football and hockey be jettisoned as well.

My son Spencer Traylor is a rugby player at Colby and that has been such an important part of his Colby experience. Please reconsider your stance on this and let the "people" vote.
