Rugby does not have to cost the college, have the students and parents that play sign a wavier...(most schools across the county have club rugby with no cost to the school incured!) As USA rugby memebers the players recieve medical coverage with a $1000 deductible if they choose not to use their own insurance. The school also need to check the national and international record of the safety of rugby, the number of serious injuries compared to those who play are actually minamal. Stop wrapping the world in cotton wool and allow these Students who are adults be allowed to make thier own decsion on what sports they play.

I played Rugby in high school and was proud to play one season at Colby. Rugby is an amazing sport that creates strong communities. It would be a diservices to pull this program

Have been part of Rugby in USA for over 40 years. Played while in law school, university, and high school. The cost estimate to run a rugby club provided is rubbish. Finding a medical professional to provide excellent coverage as a volunteer is not that hard.We had 3 medical schools on our schedule when I was a uni student and most of the teams I have coached had members with relatives who were MDs, DOs, DCs, EMTs, RNs. There are plenty of health care professionals willing to provide community service. If your university is so far removed from your community that it can not find them you need to make some adjustments.

With my son playing rugby for Colby was life grewing experiance for my son. It gave him confedeince in himself and his life. This would not only be a loss for the Rugby program, but a loss for Colby. Rugby is a big sport throughout the world and kids learn life lessons from this sport. Rugby is a very inexpensive sport, I don't believe it is costing the College too much money. Regards, Bryce

Many club rugby teams operate on a fraction of the budget the administration claims is necessary. Don't cut the team, just cut the budget to something reasonable!
