I don't live in Coker Creek But I know the place and I love it. I would fight to keep the school. We have lost all our little schools in Blount County. and it really makes a big difference. I wished we had them all back. When you lose your school you lose the community. So fight hard to keep it.

Coker Creek School has always been treated differently from the other schools in the county. We were small, had a smaller gym/cafeteria than the others(we still have smallest gym due to someone trying to save money), but you know what we showed them you did not have to have the best to be the best! The faculty and staff at Coker Creek have always had the students education as their main priority. The school has such great community supporters that when other county schools parents are scrambling to buy what is on the "LIST" at the beginning of the school year, our community provides. Our children are not numbers and do not have dollar signs stamped on their forehead. We pay taxes just like everyone else does and should have a say. If you want to balance your budget then start cutting the fat from the top not the from the children, maybe Central Office should try doing more with less for a change and not the children of Coker Creek and Monroe County!
