I, myself have no children @ Coker Creek, but do have have family that went there, and have family there now, as well. If every school had the love and concern from the teachers, principal, janitor, bus drivers, parents, grand parents and just the folks that one from the surrounding counties to support this school. Just imagine what a society we would be living in. It is a wholesome place, where people care about people. And children are loved, not because of who you are, or what you wear, but because you are a human.

My son graduated from this superb school and is now a teacher, himself. My daughter's oldest 3 are enrolled in the school and her youngest will start in the fall. I have worked at the school, helping set up the library, and worked with a great group of teachers and staff. To send our children & grandchildren to another school, when they have bonded with their teachers and fellow students, is sad to even consider, particularly with the quality education they are receiving.

I know how much this school means to the community of Coker Creek. I have had 3 children go through this school. Two of which are now fine adults. I know this school has had its struggles, more so than any other school in Monroe County! I do believe that the children and parents should not suffer due to budget cuts and courses being cut that they need to advance further in their education. I know my son goes to TPJHS now, however we do care about this community and this school!

I do not live in the Coker Creek area or never went to school there, but I was raised in the Rural Vale community and went there. I sent all 4 of my children to Rural Vale so I know and understand about small communities and schools. There was a time when Rural Vale was threatened of closing but luckily was saved. Coker Creek needs to remain open to give the students the individual teaching that they need. There's a reason why they were given a 4 out of 5 but the state overall ranking of 1. Money is always an issue but I remember several years ago when our county residents voted down a wheel tax 3 times but our elected county commissioners enforced one anyway. Every resident in this county pays that wheel tax throughout every day of every year yet our school systems still lack the funds to provide for the students some of the things that they really need. I myself, installed several security cameras in 3 different schools in this county and none of them were paid for by the wheel tax. The wheel tax in intended to be set aside for our school systems and our road ssystem's yet we have roads still falling apart and schools lacking supplies and on the verge of being closed. We should be trying to find ways to create jobs not doing away with them.

The Coker Creek community live their school. They don't have problems with their children like found in the other sc5. Leave the folks alone to do their job for their students!

This school should be saved. There are a lot of people that care what happens to this school and those children, staff or parents should not have to worry about this, its enough stress just trying to keep a join and for the kids to go to school, why add to their stress?
