Always a kind presence. Thank you Sergio for being a positive influence. My son is 23 but I remember you from when he was 10 at Torrey Pines. I hope this all gets worked out.

Coach Sergio was the only P.E teacher I have experienced who took a role beyond that of a mere instructor. While I only attended TPES for 2 years, I can certainly claim that his quality as a teacher and coach are a rare occurrence compared to the 6 other P.E teachers I have had in my life.

My 3 grown children were so lucky to have Coach Sergio as their PE coach at Torrey Pines. He has given so much to our beloved school and community over the years and inspired so many kids to love sports, fitness and competition! Coach Sergio is the best!

Coach Sergio was a part of my childhood 20 years ago when I was at TPES. He impacted a ton of children’s lives and is a great man. Let him stay and continue to impact the lives of future generations coming through TPES.

Coach Sergio was a real cornerstone of my TPES experience throughout elementary school. He embodied everything I thought elementary school should be. He was kind, caring, and just a fun person to be around. Every week when rotations came around, I found myself eager to come to PE and participate in whatever he had planned. On a bad day for me, I could always count on him to put a smile on my face with his jokes and great personality. Even past elementary school, I thought about him in PE, about how much more enjoyable it would be if he was teaching it. Whenever I saw him throughout middle school and even now in high school, I found myself hurrying to get in earshot so that I could say hi to him, so that he could put a smile on my face again. Removing Coach Sergio from Torrey Pines will end all of that. No longer will students be eager for PE. No longer will students be able to rely on him to crack a joke and make them smile. TPES alumni will wonder why he isn’t there to greet them and newly graduated students will never have had the experience of seeing him at all. Save Coach Sergio. Save the TPES community.

We know coach Sergio from a long long time ! He inspired my daughter with sports to the point that she is in 2 varsity teams at LJHS !! He is amazing ! Please don’t remove him ! It will be a big mistake !
