Coach Ross and his staff have grown in their ability to coach mens basketball. He is respected by his team and sets a good example. It would be a real disservice to the University and and the mens basketball program not to resign Coach Ross with an acceptable salary. The University needs to think about the message they would be sending to the fans, community and students if he is not given another contract..

What a class act! Monte has always considered the future of his team to be his priority without the respect of the athletic director and administration!

Early on, prior to his contract extension I wasn't sure I agreed with that decision. Now it is evident is was the correct decision. I am also sure not re-signing him now would be a major mistake by the university. Coach Ross and his staff have become excellent recruiters and developers of their athletes' basketball talent. I have never seen a team play harder and as they say"leave it all on the court" every game. He is not afraid to discipline his athletes when that has infrequently become necessary and his athletes score well academically. Perhaps more importantly, coach Ross is a developer of young, mature adults preparing them for life after they leave school. One example of his life lesson teachings that impressed me was when the team had a game in NYC he didn't take his team out on the town. He took them to the 9/11 memorial to teach them what happened when they were children and the consequences of that action on them now. What more could a university want in a head coach?

Me and my family are dieheart Blue Hens fans and we all are in favor of coach Monte Ross staying with the Delaware Men's basketball squad. If he is fired, he wouldn't be given the second chance that he needs to help Delawarereturn to the NCAA tournament. The Delaware Men's b-ball team has talent, they're still learning though, since they have very YOUNG players. Monte needs to teach them. And he is the man who can teach them properly.
