It's about time we find a teacher willing to force their students to think. Kudos for doing your job and preparing our kids for the next level of education.

Please look at this photo and realize what she was trying to teach these children. These are lessons that we all need to in order to grow. Please let the children grow.

I'm sure everything that has needed to said has been said. However, I will say that the picture has a lot of meaning to it, and reflects on our past. You can't just forget and the past and assume current issues will go away by pretending they aren't there. If you find this disrespectfu, you're what is wrong with America. It was an excellent critical thinking exercise!

I don't think she would get fired for teaching things that are going on people need to stop being so sensitive and realize what are world is becoming sad but true only we can stop it yet we choose to be ignorant to it

Controversial topics/images are EVERYWHERE! I think that this teacher should be applauded for encouraging her students to weigh in on these issues that today's society is currently faced with.

Kids should be able to debate topics relevant to history and today's times. People need to stop acting so offended and start getting more educated. Life is about debate and controversies learning how discuss these topics in a professional manner without getting offended is what's important. Stop being so sensitive people and give this teacher her job back cause in my eyes and did nothing wrong

In the world that we are living in this is what we are being taught. Not by Dayton teachers but by the media. If any of the students attending the high school watched the news or tv in general they would have seen something along the lines of the final that was given. I don't feel anything was wrong with it. There should be no repercussions against the teacher.

This picture and lesson would have given the students a rich opportunity to discuss, discover, and define their beliefs. They certainly don't have to agree with it. Being uncomfortable in a situation helps people learn about themselves and what they stand for as a human being. This, people, has become our history, we need to know it and understand it in order to choose if we want to repeat it.

Interview her students to find out the truth.

I'm a fellow educator in California. Keep up the good work. Students should not be sheltered. They should be given to experience the world as it is and have thoughtful discussion.
