Save City Park Tennis Courts

I think replacing perfectly fine tennis courts is a mistake. If pickle ball courts are wanted put them somewhere else.

As a former VCHS and VCSU tennis athlete with 50+ years in the sport, I am appalled to hear that the richly historic City Park tennis courts may be sacrificed to pickleball without adequate community input or public comment. I urge the board to take our voices into consideration.

The City Park tennis courts must be preserved. They are used often and provide some shaded courts as opposed to the North courts.

Sports will always be the center of many high schoolers lives

These courts are vital to our community as they are the only courts with lights. During the season, they are used by so many people and we have already lost the college courts.

I don't see the reason in getting rid of them it only hurts our school.

Tennis at the city park is one of my fondest memories of growing up in Valley City.

Tennis and pickle ball should co-exist. Tennis at city park has been a staple and should remain a staple in city park.

I have played tennis my whole life in Valley City and will continue to. Having the courts at city park allows jv and jr high teams to have matches at the competitive level. Eliminating them would be extremely detrimental to the Valley City High School tennis program. I want future generations of students to have the same opportunity that I did to be able to play matches and complete at a high level.

Tennis is a fun sport to watch!

Seems pointless to tear something down just to build a something similar. Or we could use three for pickle ball three for tennis that easy.

Getting rid of a highschool jv program that will greatly affect the 50 plus highschool/junior high not counting the countless community tennis players just to dedicate courts to a sport that shares the EXACT same surface as tennis just doesn’t make sense.

Please keep the tennis courts at the city park. We are building a community for the youth and trying to compete with much larger schools. We need this for the continued success of the tennis programs. And they can also be used as pickle ball courts.
