Christchurch has a strong gardening tradition with our forefathers showing more foresight in creating green areas than many cities. Learning about gardening may have changed in the how it is delivered. Ellerslie opens the mind to possibilities. I ask of the council what is the long term aim for CHCH - can we ever see past the three year election cycle and see a future that includes liesure and pleasure for Cantabrians and indeed New Zealanders before we rush to become just another concrete city with token green living and green gardens. Keep Ellersie - claim it as our own by changing the name , stimulate diversity in the show, and truly aim for an international event.

I still believe there are a big range of garden accessories that aren`t on display at the show. We have seen a greater range of such products at Garden Marlborough. Perhaps the displays could be more condensed and the poor people under the trees on a cold day!

This is an iconic NZ event and needs to be held onto, especially as a draw card for ChCh city which is still struggling all these years on.

As a floral designer i value the opportunity this show gives designers to show case their skills. I heard only positive reports from those I knew that wento this years show. Canterbury is in a building stage and we need Ellerslie to grow and evolve with it. It would be a sad day to see the garden City loose this show.

The Ellerslie flower show brightens up Christchurch and it would be a shame to see it go! And this comes from a sixteen year old!
