PETITION – “Save Chops/Save Downtown”
Dr. Aker (Aker Eye Source) has sent a letter to Chops saying that he is expanding his business and is going to take over the space currently leased by Chops. Their last business day would be Saturday, May 9, 2015 in observation of Mother’s Day.
This petition is asking Dr. Aker to consider:
· One of his other properties for the expansion of his business
· Extending Chops lease to allow more time to find a new location
Major Concerns:
Chops (Titusville's ‘Cheers’) has been in this current location for eight years and has been the focal point in the rejuvenation of historic downtown Titusville. It's the place where everyone brings their out-of-town friends/relatives/business associates to impress them with the best restaurant Titusville. It is also where everyone goes before heading to Titusville Playhouse, The Dance Studio, Dave's Downtown Lounge, Playlinda Brewery, etc. In addition, these businesses (as well as the rejuvenation of downtown) will be negatively impacted by the loss of Chops in downtown Titusville. Several of these businesses (as well as realtors) have expressed concerns about loss of business, their future viability and the ability to attract new businesses and people to Titusville if Chops not longer exists in historic downtown.
Our Request: Support the continuing re-development of downtown Titusville and these local small businesses by signing this petition: You support is needed! SAVE CHOPS/SAVE DOWNTOWN

Surely there must be a way to leave this very successful business where it is...even for the time being. Chops is an intimate, classy favorite meeting place for many of the locals, and for the many people living in the upscale highrise within walking distance of Chops. Many of those people are hoping Dr. Aker will reconsider forcing this very successful restaurant to close and put many people out of work!

We LOVE "CHOPS" and every single person working there, and all the friends we met there. We go there for almost every special event in our lives. We cannot lose a great restaurant , if anything we need more here in our Titusville. Dr.Aker what are you thinking, I know you even have patients (which I am one), that find in Chops their livlihood. Please reconsider.
