This is a piece of history for the community. My father and his sibling attended this school when it was a high school. Both of my children attended this school. I would hate to see it close. This school needs the funds to make it work and not close. Closing this school is NOT a good idea.

Closing Charles Carroll will devastate and entire community of families. The school is more than an education building it is a HUGE part of the local history.

Charles Carroll Elementary is a school that is at the heart of our community. The staff know all the students and there is a warm feeling when you enter the building. My son has struggled in math and it's been even worse now with the common core. Had he gone to a bigger school he most likely would've fallen between the cracks. The classes at Charles Carroll Elementary are smaller and because of that he was able to receive alot of one on one support to help him. The teacher was able to focus more on the needs of each individual in her class to acknowledge who needed extra support so that they didn't fall thru the cracks. This school is historic and has alot of history with it. I'm quite certain to the elderly that attended there it holds a very special meaning. Especially if their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren go there. I'm sure kids who have grandparents or great grandparents that attended are fascinated in the fact that they are attending the same school. This school isn't just a school as the boe members and commissioners see it. It is a school that hold alot of memories for alot of people, it's historic, it's the very heart of what makes our community the close community that it is. You just don't see communities like ours these days. I want my daughter to attend there next yr so that she gets a good elementary education with a smaller class and more support just as her sister and brother did.

Charles carroll has been an amazing school.with amazing staff. Charles carroll should be funded to keep the school opened and allow the children in our district to remain in the school that has done so well educational. I have daycare I can not and will not change my child's daycare because my child had to be bused out of the school in our district.

I went to CHARLES CARROLL and my 4 kids also went to Charles Carroll.
This school is part of our community, our daily lives and part of our history. It is the meeting place of our families and childrenand home of our Rec council.
This is a building that is priceless in the lives of all that it has touched.
Please take this seriously.

Our rural school within our rural community should be modernized or replaced. The school has been neglected for too long. While in 25 years, Carroll County has built 16 new schools. Closing this valuable community anchor would negatively impact Silver Run- Union Mills' property values, businesses, Rec Council, Scouting programs, etc. and disadvantage our children with increased travel to schools further away, less family time, less time for extracurricular activities, etc. We will also be spending less time in our home community which increases potential for crime. Sheriff Dewees has already spoken to our community about the county wide increase in heroine use. Closing Charles Carroll will destabilize our community. Please save our school, save our community!

My mom, aunts, uncle, brother, cousins and I all attended at Charles Carroll. It is great school. And can be fixed. To many children will lose out if they have to travri further just for school.

Keep our school open and our community strong. If our kids go to different further away schools our after school programs will cease to exist. After longer bus rides they may choose not to attend after school activities causing our children to be less active in physical activity and civic organizations to better the community in which they live. This could cause our youth to be bored and become involved in activities that may cause harm to our community and themselves. Keep Charles Carroll open, keep our kids thriving in the community in which they live, and help our local businesses flourish!
