Keep our school open and our community strong. If our kids go to different further away schools our after school programs will cease to exist. After longer bus rides they may choose not to attend after school activities causing our children to be less active in physical activity and civic organizations to better the community in which they live. This could cause our youth to be bored and become involved in activities that may cause harm to our community and themselves. Keep Charles Carroll open, keep our kids thriving in the community in which they live, and help our local businesses flourish!

Closing this school WILL have devastating effects on our entire community. I urge the Board of Education and the County Commissioners to work diligently to find a way to keep this school open for the benefit of our children and the residents of the Silver Run and Union Mills area.

This school has provided a quality education for decades and still does to this day. It is far more than a school, it is an anchor to our community. It is a safe haven and a home away from home. Closing this wonderful school would remove the anchor that has kept families here for generations. Don't take this "home away from home" away from our children and community families. Doing so would take away from family time and add unwanted stress for managing homework, sports, family bonding, dinner, and preparing for the next school day. Many children would no longer be able to participate in extra curricular activities such as sports, scouts, community service and other activities. Homeowners as well as business owners will also suffer. Closing this school would have a huge negative impact on hundreds of children and their families daily lives. Children shouldn't have to worry about having their lives uprooted, separated from their best friends, and forced to another school. We deserve and need this school in our community. Removing this school from its community would be an injustice to all affected by it's closure. Providing this school with a little bit of overdue TLC will allow for it to continue to serve it's community in so many positive ways, just as it has for the past 90 years. Don't tear our family apart. Save Charles Carroll Elementary School and save the future of our wonderful children as well as this terrific community.

This school is vital to our community! They say it takes a village...and Charles Carroll is that village. My children knew if something happened at school or they misbehaved, I would know about it before they got home. It's a close, family atmosphere. We all look out for one another. Without this central base, there will be no community here. Everyone will go in different directions because of the children being bused so far from home. Save Charles Carroll Elementary School! It's the life of this community!
