Very enjoyable and well run museum with fascinating contents. It would be a real shame for Canterbury to lose such an asset and for its own history to be transferred elsewhere.

Far too short notice re it's intended closure for a start and it is important that a city with such wonderful history and heritage such as Canterbury has should have a museum to showcase that. More needs to be done to put the museum on the map and the city council had a responsibility to make sure it is well and truly flagged up- allow the museum to stage events there which I know is not encouraged. The Marlowe theatre had enough publicity and space. I believe it is a ruse to say that they will incorporate the museum setting and artefacts in their intended project. Do not let gnus museum close!

This museum needs to be open on a regular basis, not just in the school holidays. How otherwise can all the visitors to Canterbury have a chance to visit it.

Vital for such a historically important city to display in a systematic way its history from Iron Age to the present. Good to have activities there that will attract more people in but the collections and the building should remain accessible to the public and tourists be made more aware.

This place brings together all the amazing strands that make up the rich historical tapestry that makes Canterbury such an important place not only in our local area but in the wider country an indeed beyond to Europe and the world. The council should be ashamed at even thinking of closing this amazing resource. We have visited many times and my children value this place as do I

it is important to keep these buildings open and used ... far too many go to residential and are lost to the public

This is a fantastic resource and it would be a real shame to lose it. We already miss not being able to use the museum during term time.

I have visited the museum many times, and when people were visiting me from abroad, I have always taken them to see the exhibits. It would be a shame to lose such an interesting museum. It would also be bad for the tourism industry.

We visited this as a family when our children were younger, and thought it was an excellent museum, if a bit quirky. We should keep this open for the local families and the tourists that visit our city.
