I've commented on a better way on the CCC consultation website.

Its inconceivable for such an ancient city would not have a heritage museum. Its only underused due to recent cut backs in opening times. Many times have I seen visitors disappointed that it was closed

The Canterbury Heritage Museum is a unique resource for the community and educational institutions of Canterbury. Closing it would be a short-sighted attack on our city's heritage.

We need to keep this as it is - Canterbury heritage is vitally important for our future

This is a delightful and informative facility which should be expanded, not threatened with closure - a completely short-sighted decision. This could be a major visitor attraction and a great help to students. It is already a gem.

I fully support saving this invaluable building to be used to redisplay and promote the Collection and run events and courses etc. This building is an absolute treasure in our heritage.

I remember this really getting going when piloted by the marvellous Lyle family. This is too valuable a resource not to remain.

Please do not close the museum- it has an excellent collection of objects that showcase the history of Canterbury- this collection is especially helpful to students, who can learn through the objects to acquire a more intimate understanding of the city's past.

The buildings and the collections are vital to the study of Canterbury and should be central to any visitor's schedule.

I understand modern needs have to be met but each generation has had its own needs and still successfully kept these buildings and the heritage that makes Canterbury so special please do not let us be the generation that fails to do this.

Canterbury lives on its history that's why so many visitors come we must look after our history this includes museums and buildings for instance the castle could be a better place to visit cleaned up better illuminations exhibits etc . The museums could be improved by more regular changing of exhibits and made more interesting with real exhibits not plastic replicas

My particular concern is the Museum's invaluable Joseph Conrad collection. Canterbury is the appropriate place for a display of Conrad artefacts. It is ironic that they are under threat in 2017, officially 'The Year of Joseph Conrad, when there will be a series of events promoting Conrad and his work.

Given the impressive list of organisations interested in transforming the work of the museum it would be a serious shame if this was not implemented.

I am totally shocked and staggered by the news that CCC is thinking of closing this Museum. It should remain open to the many millions of visitors to Canterbury each year.

Closing it will be like closing part of Canterbury.

This building is of significant value to the City of Canterbury. It's placement in the city is perfect for a hub to show off the city's history, heritage and more importantly it's future. This will enable various trusts, businesses and education hubs to work together and build relationships that will strengthen peoples views of important aspects of the historical city of Canterbury.

The answer is to look into new ways of presenting a valuable resource to the public, not the pessimistic route of closure.

This wonderful building must remain as the Museum of Canterbury
